Would you wear strong cologne in a lion cage? The same concept applies here. You aren't one of the chicken handlers here and thus they viewed you as an intruder. A perfectly natural reaction.
It's relatively sound. Most creatures have strong sense of smell. It stands to reason that there would be an adverse reaction when faced with a potent scent. And your cologne was... something.
Also, it seems silly to point out, but I feel it's quite unfair of you to compare your family's chickens to these. I doubt your birds were flown for three months through space. That rather sounds like the UEA didn't do enough research on the effects of space travel in live animals than anything the Agricultural Department has or hasn't done.
I believe it would be in the best interests of everyone if you paused on your little report until you have actually been here long enough to observe in more than a one-off capacity. Otherwise, it sounds like the boy who cried wolf.

Chickens are docile domestic animals. They do not have an attack reaction. Which begs the question, what exactly are you keeping in Agri 2??!

In any case, I have promised Niou to delay my decision until a second evaluation, so we shall see.
