The cherry orchards stopped producing eventually because it was getting too hot on the mountain, but yes, we had a farm! Chickens, goats, and bees.

... but the bees died out too due to the climate.

Sounds very peaceful. Is this something that's been in the family for a while then?

Oh yes! We've had it for 200 years! Sadly it's not much to look at anymore.

Yeah, the climate got pretty rough there. Do you think this has ruined cherries for you a bit? or are they something you can still enjoy?

I'll still eat them and enjoy them, but they'll never be as good as the ones we used to have.

What's your favourite way of enjoying cherries?

Freshly picked off the tree, of course.

I'm a terrible baker. You'd have to talk to Tachibana who makes delicious cakes. But I wouldn't say no.

How about we wait until I get back from family leave and see how they're acting. I think they're probably just missing me and will go back to being their usual peaceful, egg-laying selves once I'm back.
